Why we need a software museum
- hindsightbias 14y agoIt would be dominated by the chamber of horrors.
- martinvanaken 14y agoMay be it can push us so have a little less horror to show ?
- cageface 14y agoWe'll have less horror to show when clients and project managers stop setting unrealistic deadlines and stop changing requirements every step of the way.
- fuzzix 14y agoHey now, it sounds like you haven't embraced the Agile way. Next you'll be looking for specifications and time to do the work properly.
- lostlogin 14y agoSo you have used iTunes today as well?

- martinvanaken 14y agoYou see : we clearly have enough stuff to fill a museum.
- wreckimnaked 14y agoIt would be really interesting to have one of those, a physical building with proper archiving and curatory. About the fear losing our knowledge of good and bad practices, open source software itself can serve that purpose, most major projects being well documented with both development manuals and discussions from the community.
- martinvanaken 14y agoIt is not especially the fear of losing knowledge, more about opening our industry and what it does.
- sanxiyn 14y agoWe do! Computer History Museum http://www.computerhistory.org/ http://www.computerhistory.org/ runs Software Preservation Group http://www.softwarepreservation.org/ http://www.softwarepreservation.org/ Software Preservation Group already collected some impressive archives.
- wreckimnaked 14y agoAwesome! Didn't know about those, thanks for the tip.
- patrickg 14y agoI see a sign in the museum: "Please don't touch the software"
- swah 14y agoOfftopic: the list for the meta information is missing an overflow hidden or something.
