'I'm not political': Tim Cook resp to backlash ag. relationship w. Trump admin
- Trasmatta 8mo agoRidiculous. You can't repeatedly bribe the president and claim to not be political.
- dekhn 8mo agoTim Apple is like Larry Ellison; don't make the mistake of anthropomorphizing him. Simply think of him as a robot that is designed to make apple more profitable. Greasing the Trump skids helps with that.
- Trasmatta 8mo ago"Make Apple profitable at all costs, even if it means aligning oneself with the fascist party" is a very political stance
- bigyabai 8mo agoThat quote was not only meant as a coy way to brush off Larry Ellison's business gusto. It was a total condemnation of his sociopathy and immoral behavior. Larry Ellison was not a ceiling fan, shaking his hand did not bruise you. He rips it from the bone.
- UncleMeat 8mo agoThis is a fun joke but it mostly just provides an excuse for the massive harm that these people with enormous wealth and influence do to society. Ellison isn't making Oracle more profitable by consolidating a right-wing media empire.
- breve 8mo agoClaiming to not be political is still playing politics.
- treetalker 8mo agoAristotle: "Man is a political animal." Tim Apple: "I am no man."
- abstractspoon 8mo agoI'm no fan of Apple or TC but maybe his point is that all his choices are financially based not politically. IE no matter who was in office he'd lick their arse just the same. BTW this is not the same as saying that none of his choices have political consequences, they obviously do, but he's not employed to bring his personal politics into the management of Apple.
