World's first fully Client-Side Webmail Client
- jrwr 8mo agoWhat a bad name for a webmail client
- sam_goody 8mo agoThat's a blunt way of saying it, but I agree with the sentiment. Which is a shame, because this is a project that could have had potential, but a poor name goes a long way towards discouraging it being taken seriously.
- benj111 8mo agoWell you're saying that from not just an Anglo centric pov but a US pov. 'Cockly' doesn't sound particularly bad to my British ears. But then I live not so far from Penistone, so maybe I'm just used to these kind of naming schemes.
- K0balt 8mo agoWhat’s with the name? Is this somehow porn-adjacent?
- Smoosh 8mo agoCouldn’t it be rooster-adjacent?
- reedciccio 8mo agoI love your innocence! :)
- grim_io 8mo agoFor so much noise about cocks, there is a distinct lack thereof. What a scam!
- basilikum 8mo agoAs some people are confused about the name: > According to Canfield, he initially intended to use Cock.li only as his own personal email address. “It wasn’t until November [2013] that I posted the address on 4chan, and someone responded and said ‘I would love an email address there,’” Canfield said. > Other emails offered through Cock.li include horsefucker.org and goat.si—as well as other more vulgar domains we’ll refrain from printing here[...] – https://www.vice.com/en/article/the-story-of-cockli-the-site-used-to-shut-down-the-la-school-district/ https://www.vice.com/en/article/the-story-of-cockli-the-site... One of the most well known domain of them is nuke.africa although I don't know if email registration is still possible under that domain. Cock.li is the edge lord of fringe email providers and was down for quite some time for reasons I did not care to get into.
