  Isn't the same tech used in stadiums? At least in Seattle we can just walk out without paying, even alcohol. Obviously we have to scan our CC or something similar to get in but I always thought it was using the same Amazon tech. So even though these stores are closing, the tech is widely used and likely expanding and succeeding

    Still kind of pointless though. Someone has to check ID and im WA state, open the beers for you. Kind of defeated the purpose of just walk out. Since I couldn't... Just walk out.

  I quite liked the ones in London. I loved the experience of just walking in and out really quick. I knew someone who worked at Amazon UK and they told me years ago they were doing very baldy and there was talk of them closing. So I'm not surprised to hear this at all.
