- vunderba 9mo agoYears ago, I wanted to build this exact concept into a smartphone so I could just toggle it on whenever I needed to end an interminably long phone conversation. It’s basically the “Chinese food” Seinfeld gag.

- zahlman 9mo agoSimilar, but OP is about making people socially conscious of the noise they're producing (not through speech), while this "jamming" technique actually (at least theoretically) interferes with the cognitive process of choosing and forming words.
