- monocasa 9mo agoRewriting Microsoft's 10s if not 100s of millions of lines of native code in four years doesn't sound that wild to you?
- koakuma-chan 9mo agoNo? They will harness the power of AGI agents to rewrite everything in Rust. Sounds good to me.
- ronsor 9mo ago> AGI That thing we don't have yet?
- koakuma-chan 9mo ago[flagged]
- wtfwhateven 9mo agoNot true.
- koakuma-chan 9mo agoSam Altman said it's true.
- wtfwhateven 9mo agolol
- zeristor 9mo agoMaybe he looked it up on his AI
- mcv 9mo agoThe guy who can't raise a kid without AI? I wouldn't trust his opinion on things like this.
- koakuma-chan 9mo agoHe has a point. For one, tutors are obsolete now that we have AI.
- luckman212 9mo agoNot just tutors- the teachers are also obsolete. And so are the students! AI is summarizing the lessons, writing the students' papers, then grading those papers for the teachers. Time to shut down the entire education system.
- ronsor 9mo agoAI is writing the lessons too. Like a compiler, we could optimize this by doing no work at all! Once you realize no one will look at any of the results, final or intermediate, there's nothing left to do.
- koakuma-chan 9mo agoYou can quit school if you don't want to do it.
- monocasa 9mo agoOne of the least fun things about a hype bubble is that I legitimately can't tell when people are joking anymore.
- koakuma-chan 9mo agoYou should have been able to tell it's sarcasm because I said "harness the power." This phrase is only used in conjunction with bullshit.
- monocasa 9mo agoI agree it's mostly only used in conjunction with bullshit, but during a hype bubble a lot of the users of that phrase don't fully realize they're spouting bullshit, and it's used in earnest.
- xvector 9mo agoJust toss an agent at it (tm)
- arvigeus 9mo ago“Make no mistakes” and it’s a few days of work…

- bodash 9mo agoWindows’ downfall will finally give rise to the Linux desktops, already seeing trends in how popular Omarchy is and well received
- thefz 9mo agoYet another distro maintained by who knows who, applying who knows which patches, that will lose support in some years? Nah.
- tarsinge 9mo agoIt’s still wild because it’s mostly useless. Rewriting a few core components might improve security a bit, but otherwise it’ll not change anything for end users. This is the typical attractive but useless project for bored programmer with no product or business vision.
