- StrLght 10mo agoCodeberg's uptime is so bad, that it actually makes GitHub look good. ~96.5% over last 2 weeks [1] [1]: https://status.codeberg.org/status/codeberg https://status.codeberg.org/status/codeberg
- azemetre 10mo agoI'm sure if Codeberg had equivalent resources they'd be good, hard to fault a nonprofit for not benefiting from a trillion dollar multinational corporation. What was GitHub's excuse for their failures?
- miclill 10mo agoThe operate on less than 100_000€/year, so I would cut them some slack ;-) btw. codeberg is not a company, more like a foundation, Verein is the german word.
- StrLght 10mo agoI fail to see how this is relevant to the point I was making. With uptime being so low, it's not a viable alternative: budget / resources / etc. don't change that fact. Don't get me wrong — I am glad that they are doing what they're doing, but it's a long way until it becomes a real alternative.
- array_key_first 10mo agoWe don't actually know what githubs uptime is because they don't say. If you told me it's less than 96.5, I might believe you, particular for actions.
- Kelteseth 10mo agoOr just run a self hosted GitLab open source instance? Running it for 6 years now with nearly zero issues and a great CI.
- tom1337 10mo agoLast time I self hosted GitLab I was greeted with an "Update ASAP" Badge on the admin page basically every week and that has scared me away.
