I'm a progressive but I'm tired of people trying to ruin my life over nothing, just as the author is. I'm am against the far right, and as a result I feel we should not give the far right ammunition. A lot of people voted for DT because they saw him as the lesser a-hole, and the left badly needs to acknowledge that.

Because most commonly, it seems that people who take this position are writing about what happened to some celebrity who indulged in some ill-advised public behavior, and extrapolating it to their own lives due to some sort of parasocial thinking. What environment are you in that this is actually a real problem in your own life?

“A man looking to beat a dog will easily find a stick.” There is no such thing as ‘giving the right ammo’ - they already have the gun, and they’re looking to use jt. They will easily find the ammo no matter what you do. No conservatives asshole is sitting around thinking “god I wish I had a way to bully other people but they just haven’t given me a good enough excuse yet.”
