Copyright needs to be pared back legislatively (and via treaty renegotiations). More like "aggressively pruned with a chainsaw". Courts and captured international processes have made an absolute mockery of the original intent, and they're not going to turn around and fix it. Not holding my breath, mind you... market religion is strong out there, and so is the more self-serving "there need to be big concentrations of money that are easily plundered".
