Oracle default fears surge as credit swaps spike – is AI taking its toll?

- moose_man 11mo agoIf it was a bunch of absurd AI hype would you care? Everyone is so hyped on speculation, I think it is important to point out the dangers. No one else will. It may help people make more informed decisions.
- Anon1096 11mo agoSlide threads are an age old tactic for pushing views onto others. It doesn't work quite as well on a voted board but as long as 1 of your threads stick you've achieved your goal.
- GianFabien 11mo agoIt might be worse than just the AI investments. Oracle's client base are predominantly enterprises. When enterprises are cutting staff and expenses, they also look at reducing their licensing spends. Oracle has been very predatory with both Java and database licenses fees. I suspect that revenue from those areas is also likely to shrink.
- dh2022 11mo agoGiven Orcl stock is still pretty high and interest rates are also high it would have made more sense to fund the AI spree with stock…
