- zoeysmithe 1y agoTrumpism is all about maximizing tariff gain/benefit. Economically and politically he may not have room to do more without crippling the USA. The EU is already dealing with tough tariffs from the USA. Most of the "500% tariffs" is bluster and he backs down to the min/max level the capital owning class he is part of and he ultimately serves don't want to go past.
