There are two aspects to advertising, there's fact and there's opinion. As long as you understand the opinion is biased, the facts can be useful. If a new pizza place opens in my town I'd at least like to know it exists, or else I might stagnate going to only the familiar places. It's still annoying and it's unacceptable for my fridge to have a screen I can't control the content of.

I really don't want to have to worry about keeping my fridge updated, and having to throw it out after 7 years or whenever support ends.
