If I had one, I would pay it no question.
I never would have bought one in the first place due to this design. And many other things.
Does feel a lot like when companies sell hamstrung products just to force you to pay an “unlocking” fee for full functionality that should have been there from day one.
But clearly there are people who didn’t mind.

A simple turn switch from the VW dealer for a 20 year old Jetta costs about half of what this entire package costs, and that doesn't include installation or a steering wheel.
- MBCook 1y agoI suspect you’re right that this isn’t a money maker. Mostly I was going for the “it should’ve been there when you bought it“-ness of it. Even when I first saw this, and with my general distrust of them, it didn’t seem a ridiculous price to me.
