I’m not waiting for progressive taxes or forgetting anything. I’m addressing your point on how people can “feel” like they are paying a tax unrelated to them. We are in the grievance era. People view any spending that goes to an “other” as a wealth transfer from them to that other (even while most of maga don’t pay any federal tax!) so if you pick an other to support it shouldn’t be one as unsympathetic as white collar workers.
