FCC chairman leads "cruel" vote to take Wi-Fi access away from school kids
- duxup 1y agoEducation should be an economic issue, where having educated workers contributes to our economy, and maybe even helps keep folks off government services.

- wilg 1y agoEducation would give you the tools to find out whether this is true or not. (It isn't.)
- unethical_ban 1y agoEducation is a core democratic requirement. If we have universal suffrage without any testing, it is in the interest of society to have well educated citizens.

- techblueberry 1y agoOk, but do we need WiFi on school buses?
- jfengel 1y agoWe do if we haven't finished our homework. I did a ton of homework on the bus. But these days a lot of homework requires connectivity, even for routine assignments.
- aleph_minus_one 1y ago> But these days a lot of homework requires connectivity, even for routine assignments. This can easily be changed.
- ray_v 1y agoLikey not (no justification needed!)
- rightbyte 1y agoThe requirements for internet to do homework is bonkers. I can't imagine the temptation for distractions.
- mikestew 1y agoAs TFA points out, plenty do their homework on the bus.
