Their tooling is starting to show it's age, meanwhile competitors are advancing. I understand you were sold the dream that Unity will be your partner but they won't, ever, as you are their customer. If you want to make a game, go for it. If you want to make one that works well into the future, I would question going with Unity. (fmr creator of Reactor 3D, contributor to UnrealEngine, donator to Godot, grand-uncle to MonoGame, I know this space).
