is TOR an answer to this ?
- gorgoiler 1y agoTor exit nodes are the _first_ thing they ban! If your origin is not from within one of the top residential ISPs then you can expect to be selected for enhanced screening.
- HDThoreaun 1y agoIt is incredibly easy to tell if someone is using TOR. It would be banned before VPNs
- firefax 1y ago>is TOR an answer to this ? I've found Tor is mostly useful for reading, not participating. Exit nodes get blocked from registering on most sites. One workaround is to register at a café or library then use the account over Tor, but sometimes even if you're being civil (see my comment history for a a pretty good picture of the style of discussions I have anonymously) sometimes you'll wake up to find the account nuked.
- gadders 1y agoI heard on here I think (but can't confirm) that renting a cheap server in a data centre and sticking your own tailscale on it is the best way to go.
- mywittyname 1y agoOnly if you want your traffic to flow through NSA-backed honeypots and get caught up in a dragnet. I mean, it's probably the case that traditional VPNs are also dragnets to some degree, but TOR is a confirmed NSA dragnet.
