You can get push notifications to your phone from a website through the browser, even when that website isn't still open.
But presumably developers have more control over app notification look & feel vs browser notifications?
- hsbauauvhabzb 1y agoBrowser push isn’t enabled by default which ime is a huge difference.

- frollogaston 1y agoThat's relatively recent. For years, iPhone PWAs didn't support push, and there are still other big reasons they're not really a thing. Like try making Firebase auth work in a PWA.
