Money wins all the time and the GOP is happy to take it for supporting fossil fuels. But the climate change fix party (democrats) is more than happy to open up new Oil Fields if they think high gas prices will hurt their election chances. That happened under Biden. So here we are, seeing heat records being broken every year and storms causing more and more damage. Everyone knew this would happen 60+ years ago, but the bribes kept the gov. kicking the can down the road. At least by closing Mauna Loa the facts can be denied going forward. The next kick will probably "melt" the can.
