I'm not seeing any fairly priced MacBooks in the Apple store. Are you referring to second hand laptops?

  Macbook Air is 999$ 16G RAM and 256Gb. I think if you look at the competition you would be right about the same territory but with better battery, perf of M silicon chip. For that price I think it is really hard to beat Apple. But once you go on the upgrade from base config that is when it begins to stop making sense and look elsewhere.

    I mean... 256Gb storage in 2025 sounds like a joke. I hate that they can get away with that

      Yes I am with you on that one. Not supporting Apple by any means here but if your workflow is cloud based you could get away with 256. As a software dev. my work laptop sadly or surprisingly is 256 and I haven't hit the storage limit on it. No running any code locally everything is on a sandboxed dev. machine.
