- dekhn 1y agoCheck out the history of BBN, who was deeply involved in the creation of the modern internet. There was an open revolving door between BBN employees and granting agencies, and BBN was even charged with contract fraud by the government . It's owned by Raytheon- a classic defense company. Our country's tight relationship between the government, military, academia, and industrial has paid off repeatedly, even if it has some graft.
