(See what I mean?)
In that particular case, as far as I know, the gesturer himself denies that interpretation, so what people like you are upset about are about your own interpretation, not anything actually confirmed. This is therefore similar to the sıkışınca/sikişınce case, where people were willing and able to kill based on their own interpretation of things, ignoring the denials from the originator of what was being interpreted.
- ses1984 1y agoMaybe if said gesturer had a record of being honest, it would be easier to believe him. How is this man’s record I wonder.
- teddyh 1y agoIf the Turkish texting man had a history of blatant and frequent lying, would that have excused the reasoning and behavior of his wife and her father?

My understanding is that he denies expressing support, but doesn't deny support. Which doesn't look good! > If the Turkish texting man had a history of blatant and frequent lying, would that have excused the reasoning and behavior of his wife and her father? It would have excused treating the supposed typo as not a typo. That's a separate question from the reaction after.
- literalAardvark 1y agoWell, was this hypothetical Western man stabbed? No? Glad we had this talk
- watwut 1y agoThat guy literally supports far right financially and did a textbook nazi salute. Also, have a track record of lying. Also, his explanation was just a nonsense.
