The bond market is always the adult in the room. The UK PM lasted like 44 days when the bond market pushed her out [1]. In this case, the flip was that all the chaos led to people leaving behind the USD completely. Trumps view of the US/World is ~30+ years out of date. There are other stable places to put money now where it used to only be USD.

- hatthew 2y agoIsn't iceberg lettuce so common in part because it's one of the most stable lettuces? Still absolutely hilarious that Truss was outlasted by a head of lettuce, but I want to make sure that we're being accurate.
- blitzar 2y agoYou have got me, I was making shit up on the fly. Iceberg lettuce is a cultivar known for its longer shelf life and higher water content. Romaine lettuce is another lettuce cultivar famous for its crunchy texture and higher vitamin content. I am switching to Romaine for the vitamins now I know (have read a single headline on the internet) better.
