So .... kind of like iPython notebooks but for building a system?

  In a way. It does have a notebook component, but that's just one piece. It's the sum of all pieces that make it a different environment. From our point of view, the interesting bit is that we show that we can use the idea of contextual tools for every development problem at any abstraction level. That's counter intuitive, but we worked like this for 10 years and we did not find a counter example yet :)
