It's been weird going a year or two without really following astralcodexten and suddenly it's pivoted to All AI All The Time.
- spencerflem 2y agoonly slighly worse than the last pivot of anti-woke all the time. I think he has a particularly vile audience now and that's influenced him and his writing.

- spencerflem 2y ago2022 or so all he could talk about was internet moderation, free speech on campuses, and race/gender statistics. He is very explicitly anti-woke and this is stated directly in many articles.

He isn't "anti-woke all the time". If you want to talk about him being explicit, then take stock of what is explicitly said.

He talks all the time about how he hates wokeness and woke people. You can still vote democrat and be anti-woke in a way that's annoying to read.

"For me, seeing actual injustices against minorities makes me more woke, and seeing woke people be stupid and unnecessarily combative makes me less woke." -- yeah, really oozes hate. It's clear what this is: you find any hint of criticism for this pet issue heretical.
- spencerflem 2y agoRead any other paragraph lol. Or any time "cancel culture" comes up in this or any of dozens of articles it was mentioned in. It was annoying.

- lanfeust6 2y agoThe rest of the rat-sphere is worse in that regard, which is not unlike tech circles in general (See: HN). ACX is at least varied in output. See the last several articles and count how long it takes until you reach AI.
