Lady of the North 55°05'18.2"N 1°37'41.1"W – Google Maps
- greatgib 2y agoGoogle Map shows me nothing. I see an empty pin in the middle of the UK forest. What is interesting there? How does this finish in HN top without anything apparent?
- shawabawa3 2y agoChange it to satellite view
- greatgib 2y agoThank you very much, that was the missing piece of info. Very fun!
- netsharc 2y agoEver consider that the problem might be with your television set? On desktop, the link opens Google Maps on satellite view... It's this thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northumberlandia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northumberlandia Alternative link: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/how-earth-it-making-northumberlandia-12301292 https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/how-ear...
- greatgib 2y agoI don't think that it depends on desktop or mobile, but if you are connected or not and your map setting. But curious that the path pattern does not appear in the map view
- nkurz 2y agoHere's the official website with some explanation: Northumberlandia is a unique piece of public art set in a 19-hectare community park providing free public access, with four miles of footpaths on and around the landform, along with a café and visitor centre. ... The centrepiece of this 19-hectare park is ‘The Lady of the North’, a stunning human landform sculpture of a reclining lady. Made of 1.5 million tonnes of rock, clay and soil, she is 100 feet high and a quarter of a mile long. https://thelandtrust.org.uk/space/northumberlandia/ https://thelandtrust.org.uk/space/northumberlandia/
- withinrafael 2y agoIf you were still confused like I was, here's a photo of the map on-site (best photo I could find): https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcwdOo0WnU51BasHVJ4FG7YRBnZs4Ip0g4eI1MilDQhxeF3BNiLxasYozRMqfeX1Muh701BOFz4ZA77dfdvx6MDQtp39F9479udpNl0dsaOgt9PvQ33uF0fTorgQh3nEm9iQhNuGFDyRqG/s1600/DSCF8007.JPG https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg...
- IAmGraydon 2y agoI bet I could guess where the teardrops are.
- petercooper 2y agoInteresting that the Wikipedia entry says it was designed to be a “major tourist attraction.” I live in the north of England and this is the first time I’ve ever heard of it(!)

- comrade1234 2y agoLooks like a golf course in satellite view. A three-hole golf course. Badabumptscha.
- dave333 2y agoI was confusing this with Angel of the North https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?pagename=Angel_of_the_North¶ms=54.9141_N_1.5895_W_region:GB_type:landmark https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?pagename=Angel_of_... They are only 16 miles (20 mins by car) apart so visiting both makes sense.
- gerjomarty 2y agoFor anyone in the area to visit this, also consider a visit to the nearby Cramlington Giant Spoon. https://maps.app.goo.gl/BgeEKxaoKrbJtQFz7 https://maps.app.goo.gl/BgeEKxaoKrbJtQFz7
