- darknavi 2y agoWe have a bloat slip on Lake Sammamish and there is a family living in one of the giant trees near the slip. Marymoor park + the lake seem like a great space for them to hunt and live.
- elbajo 2y agoI'm also on Lake Sammamish and have a couple bald eagles living on a tree next to the house! A bit random but if you ever want to meet up, I will be there May-June this year :)
- dluan 2y agoThere's a few that used to live on one of the 520 pylons and would watch the morning bridge traffic go by everyday, but then one was hit and killed by a bus windshield.
- DiggyJohnson 2y ago…so it got hit by a bus?
- ncr100 2y agoI watch one get harangued by crows every time it comes to my Seattle neighborhood. It is such a large animal compared to the crows, if it were serious it would absolutely rip the crows to shreds. So far, peaceful.
- marbs 2y agoThere is a wild bald eagle that has taken up residency in Woodland Park Zoo, and has constructed a huge nest in the tree on top of the hill in the Elk enclosure. You can see it from the "Elk Overlook" at the end of the trail. It's quite convenient that the bald eagle chose the Elk enclosure as its home because that's part of the Living Northwest Trail, so it blends in seamlessly alongside all the other native, but captive, PNW animals! The only official mention I can find of this is: https://blog.zoo.org/2020/10/meet-raptors-superheroes-of-skies.html https://blog.zoo.org/2020/10/meet-raptors-superheroes-of-ski... > Wild bald eagles often nest and raise their young in one of the trees on zoo grounds.
