GSA engineering lead resigns over DOGE ally's request for access
- cempaka 2y agoRunning a shady "car company" for 15 years is a great way to build a roster of amoral freaks with technical skills.

- ggm 2y agoPlease list the amazing amounts of waste.
- tssva 2y ago“The fact that they are uncovering amazing amounts of waste can't be ignored. Whatever their motive or reasoning.” It can be ignored because it isn’t a fact. They have claimed to have uncovered amazing amounts of waste but I have yet to see any evidence that they have. They have uncovered spending that they disagree with on a policy basis but that isn’t waste that is a difference of opinion on spending priorities. And even that hasn’t been amazing amounts.

- quantified 2y agoCan you point to the specifics? Or have the DOGE-stylists not released verifiable quantities and recipients that match the headlines?
- dekhn 2y agoThere is waste in government. However, what I have seen so far is Musk and buddies claiming waste, but upon further inspection, is not actually amazing amounts of waste, but rather their lack of understanding (combined with a credulous media).

- rdist 2y agoWhen I see stories like this, doesn't it make it easier, not harder for the DOGE folks to do their thing? I get the "resign in protest" angle but is it really helping any?
- Grimblewald 2y agoI think it is in part a statement of "I can no longer do my job as required but am expeted to take responsibility for future outcomes, so i'd ratger resign" which I would cobsider reasonable.
- kermatt 2y agoWhen you can't prevent corruption, you can choose to separate yourself from the outcome, or potentially be blamed for it later.
