"woke" is the new "communist" of our times.
I think this administration overestimates the power of "war time" thinking when most people are fatigued and couldn't care less. Of course it works with the 5-30% of the electorate that is engaged and consuming hate news all the time, but I suspect the rest of society is going to get fed up real soon when there are more practical issues knocking on their door (eg. inflation).
- benatkin 2y agoIt seems to be assigned to things that aren’t humans, groups of humans, or activities involving humans more often than communist though. So that anything that something touches becomes woke. For instance a chocolate chip cookie that had fair trade chocolate might be called a woke chocolate chip cookie, but a chocolate chip cookie probably wouldn’t be called communist. And with a particularly odd person like Ted Cruz it could be a Woke DEI Chocolate Chip Cookie.

- orwin 2y ago'woke' is the new 'judeo-bolchevism' you mean. You even have people talking about 'cultural Marxism' again, after 90 years. Unironically.
