- dekhn 2y agoI used to work in a national lab and one day got an email from IT asking why I was torrenting so much (they use a tool to monitor network traffic so they knew exactly what machine was generating gigabytes of traffic). I told them I was downloading linux (true) and they put me on a whitelist. But it still felt weird.

- jimmydoe 2y agoAnna’s Archive shared many Chinese companies paid handsome money to get its data. Did Meta pay for get these archive too? If not, that will be quite funny as they are just so stingy; if they did pay Anna, I wonder if Anna can reach a deal with Authors Guild to exchange the proof for the release of Z-Lib operators.
- jimmydoe 2y agoThis reminds me the very person download academia papers to his laptop was pushed to suicide. Heroes died honorably for nothing. The shameless gets rich.
- amai 2y agoMove fast and pirate things!
- amai 2y agoSo I just have to claim I‘m going to train an AI with all my pirated data and then nobody can sue me?
