I thought most people were on social media for, you know, social things: sharing photos, discussions, etc. Sending money is an important social activity, but I can't think of a single time I've wanted to use Twitter (when I used it) to send money -- the circles of activities weren't heavily overlapping. (This has nothing to do with politics or decentralization or anything else.)
