- slater 2y ago"When I see what people create with WordPress, some days I feel like I’m grinding pigment for Leonardo da Vinci or a slitting a quill for Beethoven." "the SEO space, an industry known for making the web better" this... this guy is fully cooked.

- itsdrewmiller 2y agoI think the second quote was a pretty sick burn, not his personal belief.

- GiorgioG 2y agoWhat an asshole.
- sails01 2y agoIndeed
- keikobadthebad 2y agoReading it I'm not sure if this is just a unilateral communist-style purge or an actual fork launch (or both). Here's hoping the fork gets off the ground and removes most of the pressure creating this nastiness that isn't helping anyone. Just pointing out with gpl forks, if egos will allow it, code can be shared both ways. That's much easier if bridges are still standing.
- mattrad 2y agoThere is no fork at the moment, there was only discussion of how to move releases forward on PostStatus Slack. It's a purge.
- andypants 2y agoNone of the banned people mentioned a fork, some don't even have anything to do with wordpress other than commenting about the drama on twitter. The whole post is matt gaslighting to justify the purge.
- keikobadthebad 2y ago> None of the banned people mentioned a fork Steady on, at least one of them wrote a big blog post on his own site Dec 20 basically prematurely accepting the honour. https://joost.blog/wordpress-leadership/ https://joost.blog/wordpress-leadership/ I can imagine the excessive smugness there about 'taking back the commons' triggered the purge.
- ookblah 2y agoI guess the pettiness can continue to reach new lows
