41% of companies worldwide plan to reduce workforces by 2030 due to AI

- taylodl 2y agoAnd? Probably even more companies are going to reduce workforces due to continuing automation. There was an article just today in the new section of HN talking about how the labor market is contracting and the fact there are fewer and fewer people to do jobs now that immigration is tightening, and the working population is continuing to age-out. Companies are simply going to have to make do with less. AI and automation may allow them to do that. The gold mine is going to be in agricultural robots.
- fendy3002 2y agoI'm under impression that current AI cannot handle 10% of edge cases that human can. Worse AI feels like to hallucinate so it's even harder to identify whether the edge cases happen. How do companies plan to work around or mitigate that? Or they're betting on them being acceptable soon?
- rar00 2y agowith human supervisors is the plan. Instead of X workers, they now have X agents + Y<<X supervisors to unblock (and collect additional data for) agents
