Opponents of Elon Musk claim he stripped them of their X badges
- deleted 2y ago[deleted]
- peutetre 2y ago> Before she lost her verified badge, Musk posted that “Loomer is trolling for attention.” Apparently that's a mirror Musk doesn't want to look in.
- quantified 2y agoMoney and maturity seem entirely uncorrelated.
- clipsy 2y agoAnticorrelated, if anything.
- sidarh 2y agoHe's also been suspending accounts critical of him. e.g. see https://rdrama.net/post/328688/elon-has-gone-full-reddit-jannie/7543094#context https://rdrama.net/post/328688/elon-has-gone-full-reddit-jan...
- Terr_ 2y agoHe also stole the @X and @America handles for his own use, and is threatening to take away the handles used by Infowars™ if he doesn't like whichever new management buys it from the bankruptcy court. So along with older "don't show our ads next to Nazis" problems, companies ought to be concerned that their entire corporate presence on ExTwitter might be hijacked if they somehow become a target of a man-child's caprice.
- bdangubic 2y agoyou only need to look at his pictures and life before the riches. he was balding at the turn of the century and is deeply self-concious and disturbed person. won the capitalism, richest man in the world (by wide margin) spending time arguing with his peasants on twitter… just a deeply disturbed person - his ills have no cure but it is entertaining to watch all the “freedom of speech” morons finally getting a clue who they are dealing with. ballparking he’ll rejoin democratic party no later than January 18th or thereabouts :)
- Terr_ 2y agoI disagree with the predictions: 1. Most of his "freedom of speech" supporters were really just "do whatever liberals dislike" all along, so they'll stick around. 2. There's no reason for Musk to switch his advocacy and mega-donations to another party any time soon. He hasn't even started cashing-out on his influence-buying. Infighting over H1B policies is nothing compared to stuff like getting Tesla vehicles special exceptions for safety rules, favorable SpaceX government contracts, or shaping tariff policy to his benefit.
- bdangubic 2y agohis days around Trump are numbered. MAGA is just now realizing that he is not an American, that he is a fucking immigrant too - the group they were groomed to hate since Trump’s appearance to the politican arena a decade ago. and elon is waaaay to much of an insecure person to back off - trump will have no choice but to dump him and soon
- techfeathers 2y agoI think Trump is weak and Musk is making his move. There was talk of Trump being tired on the campaign trail, and I notice most of the voices attacking musk are out of the circle. Loomer, Gaetz. In retrospect I wonder if Musk is the one who got Gaetz out. I don’t know that we’ll see a 25th amendment, but I do think the power structure is shifting from working class /populist MAGA to tech elite MAGA.
- bdangubic 2y agothere aren’t enough elite MAGAs to hold the power longer than midterm election in 2026. and Trump knows that all too well as he got destroyed in 2018 midterm election
- licebmi__at__ 2y agoThis was said just 2 years ago: > When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it's electric cars that don't drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he'd be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, "drop to your knees and beg," and he would have done it... I doubt either of them forgot about it. Smarter men than Musk were dropped by Trump before.
- buildsjets 2y agoLol, what a bunch of total losers. Both Elon and his “Opponents”. Can’t wait to see what the whole crew ends up going to prison for.
