OpenAI is a masterclass in pissing off paying customers.
I'm just about ready to cancel my ChatGPT subscription and move fully over to Claude because OpenAI has spit in my face one too many times.
I'm tired of announcements of things being available only to find out "No, they aren't" or "It's rolling out slowly" where "slowly" can mean days, weeks, or month (no exaggeration).
I'm tired of shit like this:

get them back up shortly so check back soon.
Sign up? I'm already signed up, I've had a paid account for a year now or so.

No you aren't, you might be rolling it out (see above for what that means) but it's not released, I'm a ChatGPT Plus user and I can't use it.
- EliBullockPapa 2y agoI really don't think it's reasonable to expect them to onboard what is likely tens of thousands of sign ups in the first hour.
- minimaxir 2y agoChatGPT has far, far more concurrent users than tens of thousands. Sora is not a small hobby project by an amateur hacker that blew up.
- joshstrange 2y agoI don't disagree, what I'm asking for is "truth in advertising". I'm not saying they need to give everyone access on day 1, I'm saying don't _say_ you've given everyone access if you haven't.
