- miffy900 2y agoInteresting that use of Objective-C/C++ is still climbing at a seemingly unchanging, linear rate. Look, Swift's a great language and all, but it's become grossly sophisticated and complex to the point of being a bloated pig; I wonder if people at Apple are still using Objective-C purely because editing it in XCode is still faster than Swift with respect to autocomplete and compilation speeds.
- vor_ 2y agoApple certainly appears to be going all in on Swift. Even Foundation is written in it now. The use of Objective-C could have any number of explanations, from compatibility with legacy frameworks/applications to flaws in methodology. The charts give a general sense of trends but should be taken with a grain of salt.
