For many purposes it will be the car's battery.
- rasz 2y agoThe same car you drive to work?
- hooverd 2y agoIt could discharge during peak and recharge during low usage, presumably with a lower limit.
- Scoundreller 2y agoI figured the car would drive itself around from where the energy was plentiful to where it’s needed.
- natmaka 2y agoVehicles batteries (plus other similar assets: dams, stationnary batteries...) will be more and more able to cope. Check the average and peak amount of electricity consumed during the night, and the average and max capacity of vehicle batteries (nowadays most cars have at least 50 kWh, about 5 times what the typical home in Northern Europe needs during a winter night, with electrical heating). At any moment ~94% of private vehicles are parked. Daytime: solar charges vehicle batteries. Nighttime (reduced overall electricity consumption): batteries help the grid to cope with the absence of solar-produced electricity (electric heating, entreprises needing electricity...).
