I feel like that's true only because we have a culture of making needlessly complex websites on the level of OS drivers, mostly to artificially grab attention due to the sickness of SEO.
- Zak 2y agoHow am I supposed to break the back button, "improve" scrolling, and make links you can't open in a new tab without at least 5mb of Javascript?
- vouaobrasil 2y agoHahah. Don't forget paywalls. More websites should have those.
- ralegh 2y agoWeb browsers could have 1/10th of the features, basically enough for markdown, forms, forums, displaying media, and minimal styling.
- vouaobrasil 2y agoYes, and that would be enough to make a useful internet. Unfortunately, out of control capitalistic tendencies push for maximum features for no real benefit at all.
