Certainly with an uncrewed vehicle I believe we could land on the moon in two years. So then maybe within a year or two of that we could be sending crew. I would say four years at the outside.” I think this was/is right. The US chose not to, and we are more risk averse than in the 60s, but we “could” have done it that quickly. Probably must do it anyway when the new Trump admin is throwing away SLS and requesting a new launch system for Orion from BO/SpaceX for a moon landing in 2027 (only three years away).
