Are they (the writers or scientists) trying to find the 21 grams?

Scientists are trying to find the neural correlates of consciousness based on entirely physical, detectable, and scientifically understandable concepts, not pseudospiritualism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_grams_experiment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_grams_experiment) amplified by poor journalism.
