Why Are Women Less Likely to Use AI?
- anovikov 2y agoHere's two data points: my wife is a paid subscriber to ChatGPT and Midjourney and uses them "for everything", and i never even tried it - it just feels like a Devil's creation to me.

- carlosjobim 2y agoWomen are more grounded in reality, while many men believe any fancy.
- beardyw 2y ago"The women I spoke to — with the notable exception of those who work in tech and media — were more reluctant. Many seemed disinterested." Odd use of "disinterested" to me, why not uninterested, which I would guess is how they feel.
- eddd-ddde 2y agoTIL disinterested and uninterested have different meanings in English.

- fragmede 2y agomultiple women in my life use the shit out of ChatGPT and absolutely love it. Ones using it to help her write a book (fiction). She discusses characters, how they develop, what they do. she tells it (via voice, even!) to go back and change things and add details and such. another was telling me how she uses it to help her not sound "unhinged" (her word) when texting with her boyfriend about serious matters. another tells me it's taught her all sorts of things that she'd feel embarrassed to asking a real person dumb questions about, like investing. another uses it to help her write website/marketing copy. one thing that I never considered was that the user prompt isn't just for telling it I'm an know it all and to never apologize, but you can use that to tell it to be sassy and that it should use an accent and ask how your day is going and to use emojis in responses (as desired). to be transparent, there are also women in my life who tell me they "just don't get it" and haven't adopted it as well, but the headline simply isn't true, from my perspective, from inside the filter bubble I live in. I haven't run any sort of survey, so this is anecdotal at best, I was just surprised at how much these women, who aren't super technical just absolutely love it, vs the tempered enthusiasm, if not the outright rejection and fear other people I've discussed this with have of chatgpt, specifically.
