- anon7000 2y agoHow is there a duopoly in the cloud market in the US?

- jacooper 2y ago> They also have nothing like Cloudflare and dozens of other large cloud services companies. Europe has a cloud so basic and primitive you'd think they were a developing economic region still struggling to grasp basic software development. You have no idea what you are talking about. If you think Europe, which has United Internet(Ionos), OVH, scaleway, and many others is a developing region, you have never seen the hosting market in an actually developing market.
- ragall 2y agoYour ignorance must be blissful.
- LunaSea 2y agoDo you know that AWS uses other companies data centers in many places in the EU?
- StressedDev 2y agoAWS, Azure, and Google have data centers in Europe. I am sure lots of other companies (like Cloud Flare) have servers in Europe too. Most large providers are global companies which operate in as many countries as possible.
- wqaatwt 2y agoI think they were talking about the internet infrastructure itself (not even data centers) rather than where the companies are registered. > Europe has a cloud so basic and primitive You do know that AWS, Google, Azure and Oracle all have data centers in Europe? > basic software development What does this even have to do with “software development”? You do know that you can run your American software on European servers and the other way around? We’re well past the PAL vs NTSC thing..
- eptcyka 2y agoDuopoly in connectivity.
- hiccuphippo 2y agoThis case is for a EU company's offerings to the US. Why would they make themselves less competitive?
