- pjmlp 2y agoWho knows, they may turn into a motorbike rider during the night.
- quickslowdown 2y agoBut then you have to use an Oracle product. I'll pass, looks like RHEL is on their way anyways.
- chasil 2y agoOracle Linux actually adds some significant features to RHEL. Btrfs gets first tier support under the UEK. The UEK also includes all the drivers available in stock Linux that are removed in RHEL. And did I mention that it's free?
- CoolCold 2y ago> Btrfs gets first tier support under the UEK. > The UEK also includes all the drivers available in stock Linux that are removed in RHEL. WSL2 usually runs on kernel from MS, not from one of the distros
- chasil 2y ago...and wsl1 doesn't run a Linux kernel at all. The expanded hardware and btrfs benefits of Oracle Linux are general, not specific to wsl.
- quickslowdown 2y agoIt's dead on arrival considering the source. I avoid Oracle out of principle, and my memory of what a shit org they are. It could do my laundry and place winning bets for me and I'd still look for a similar product from almost anyone else.
- dessimus 2y agoAlmaLinux 9 is in the Microsoft Store for free as well, if looking for another RHEL clone.
- ossusermivami 2y agothere is no way in hell i would sell my soul to use Oracle....
