- hilux 2y agoI'm an immigrant - not a fan of the fat orange rapist. And I think he has a 90% chance of winning.

- Bluescreenbuddy 2y ago>New data from @BrookingsGov/@PRRIpoll show that 60% of white evangelical Protestants and a roughly equal share of Republicans believe that immigrants entering the U.S. illegally are “poisoning the blood” of our country. #AVS2024 No it's not a "third of americans" It's a third of religious nutjobs who took the poll.
- dadjoker 2y agoBecause Tren de Agua is really building the country up and enhancing it...
- boznz 2y agoNobody is going to take away anything but the headline, this is why I don't read the news or have social media
- dekhn 2y agoThe m ethodology is on page 70 of the report: https://www.prri.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PRRI-Oct-2024-AVS-Draft_B.pdf https://www.prri.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/PRRI-Oct-202... More democrats took the poll than republicans, and the largest religious group was "unaffiliated". Survey designers who want useful results work pretty hard to correct for bias and capture the large-scale opinion (I can't say anything in this case other than "from a superficial view it seems like they did most things not incorrectly")
- rsynnott 2y agoI realise that it is most improper to read the articles on this here website, but: > “One-third of Americans (34%) say that immigrants entering the country illegally today are ‘poisoning the blood of our country’, including six in 10 Republicans (61%), 30% of independents, and only 13% of Democrats,” a summary of the annual poll stated, which surveyed more than 5,000 individuals from 16 August to 4 September. A little under _two_ thirds of Republicans believe it, but a third of Americans overall.
- Suppafly 2y agoDescendants of immigrants agree with Trump that immigrants 'poison the blood' of US.
- jqpabc123 2y agoEven more blatantly hypocritical is the fact that Trump and his running mate are both married to immigrants.
- rsynnott 2y agoAnd Trump himself is the grandson of immigrants. Presumably the ol’ blood poisoning doesn’t last very long?
- Suppafly 2y agoHell, his wife was an illegal immigrant before he married her, considering that she worked as a model while on a tourist visa. And that's ignoring the obvious lack of "extraordinary ability" underlying her eventual "Einstein visa". Everyone just pretends that ultimately ending up with a valid visa or getting married somehow negates pass immigration crimes.
- stevenalowe 2y agosubhead: Founder of polling firm that conducted survey says: ‘That language is straight out of Mein Kampf … it’s Nazi rhetoric’ "The poll also found nearly one in four Trump supporters, 23%, believe if he loses the election that he should declare the results invalid and do whatever it takes to assume office."
- b3ing 2y agoIf they really believed that why not stop H1-b visa workers? Why not stop migrant workers? Because they want cheap labor. But dont they think that they could possibly find a partner here and marry someone? SHOCK Blaming immigrants for what they want to happen to some degree, who do you think makes most of the money off cheap labor on sugar "plantations" in Florida? Its not immigrants. Who do you think is making most of the money on flooding the tech market with H1-b visa workers, its not the immigrants, it's the CEOs at the top.
