Tiny Glade: How Could They Do This? [video]
- woolybully 2y agoHow could they do what? I watched for a few minutes, and they mentioned that people might lose a lot of stuff they worked on, but didn't indicate what that was. What did they do?
- jokethrowaway 2y agoThis game is amazing. It also works remarkably well; I've read it's written in Rust + bevy + a custom vulkan renderer. I remember being mindblown, a few years back, by procedural generation talk by Anastasia Opara (one of the creators of Tiny Glade, ex-Embark) - and by her rust library for procedural generation: https://github.com/EmbarkStudios/texture-synthesis https://github.com/EmbarkStudios/texture-synthesis I think this concept can be expanded even more, I'm sure we'll see even more of this. Congrats on the game!
- WithinReason 2y agoThis game is a lesson in game design
- verdverm 2y agoTiny Glade's embrace of minor imperfections is interesting. You can quickly build beautiful things if you put aside the need for things to exactly align. The daily theme is also a nice idea, the camera options are great. Copy & paste is one of the top desired and requested features, or perhaps a blueprint library, would take it up another notch. https://www.reddit.com/r/TinyGlades/ https://www.reddit.com/r/TinyGlades/ to see what people are building.
