About 20% of the variance in lifetime earnings can be explained by differences in hours worked… Perhaps in a vacuum… It is far, far more important to be well liked than to do a good job these days. Hopefully a person can be both well liked and do good work, but the social aspect of any "work" environment is more important.

How can that be true? These days, a lot more work than before is done remotely. It means importance of being liked can only go down.
