Isn't tobacco and alcohol at a high time low in the younger generations?
- candiddevmike 2y agoAIUI gen z is slightly more health focused and has lower alcohol usage. Millennials and gen x make up for it.
- dbish 2y agoNot to mention that they’ve cut out alcohol but added vapes and what seems to be a healthy amount of marijuana. I don’t think that makes them healthier overall.
- whimsicalism 2y agocutting out smoking and alcohol and subbing in vapes and marijuana is almost certainly a net win healthwise
- dclowd9901 2y agoUnless it isn’t. Frankly we don’t know what the long term effects of vaping and marijuana usage are because we’ve not really dug into them.
- whimsicalism 2y agothere are a fair number of long term studies in marijuana. it’s clear that for normal usage patterns compared to normal tobacco usage patterns, the cancer risk is much lower.
- dclowd9901 2y agoHow about compared to alcohol? Various kinds of alcohol? The claim was that vaping and marijuana were both lower risk than smoking and alcohol. I think jury is still out.
- whimsicalism 2y agoMarijuana consumption is well-studied to be less bad than alcohol. Vaping we have strong reasons to think is less bad, but it is not well studied.
- copperx 2y agoWhat is a healthy amount of marijuana?
