They are making it the default, but the old interface will be available as a plug-in for at least a year, and maybe longer if there is continued demand for it
87% of their users are already using the new UI, according to them. Personally I love it. It's not as clean as VScode but a lot better than the old Jetbrains.
- MBCook 2y agoIt doesn’t match HN guidelines of using the original titles. It’s the submitter editorializing. I’ve been using the new UI since shortly after it was released. I knew the day was going to come they would retire the old one so I figured I’d just start getting used to it. It’s been long enough I don’t really remember the difference but I’m quite happy in the new one at this point.
