I'm on the side of people who say The Fappening was a bunch of sex crimes and that nonconsensual deepfakes are too, but in 5 years phones will do this entirely on device. I really don't know who we're kidding with this stuff, cat's out of the bag. The thing we should be concerned about is what kind of surveillance they'll have on our devices to monitor us. For now the focus is on the services running the models: journalists are all "whoa Google let me add a line of coke to this pic", but there's a short step between that and "hey that image violates SB 112, wait here for the cops".
