That doesn’t track. Any store with barcode scanning can account for drawer shortages. Employees have known they will be disciplined and fired for being short on cash for decades, even if an accident. Second, an employee’s overhead cost is bigger than the small amounts they might try to steal. Saving hundreds a day is the goal of implementing these machines.

- 1123581321 2y agoCancellation rates are monitored and lately, looked at with cameras. But that is indeed a potential workaround.
